# Billing & Usage

> Plans, included quotas, overage, and spend protection.

Usage lives at **Dashboard → Billing**. Inbound email is always free — only sent emails count against quota.

Sandbox workspaces are hard-capped (sending stops at the limit, no surprise bills) and single-recipient sends only. Paid tiers add metered overage past the included quota instead of cutting off mid-cycle.

## Metered overage

Past your included quota, extra emails and extra inboxes are metered and billed at cycle end through the customer portal. The Billing page shows a live **projected cycle total** (base + accrued overage) so there are no surprises.

## Spend protection

Paid workspaces can set a per-cycle email ceiling (**Billing → Spend protection**). When the cap is reached, sending **pauses with a clear error** instead of generating more overage — your agents keep running, mail waits until the cycle resets or you raise the cap. Set it to match the most mail you ever want to pay for in one cycle.

## Sending approval & limits

* New **sandbox** workspaces require one-time sending approval (anti-abuse review). Inboxes and API integration work immediately; outbound delivery unlocks on approval.
* Daily sending caps apply per plan. Hitting a cap returns `402 limit_reached` — see [Errors](/errors) and [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting).
* A reputation circuit breaker pauses sending if complaints or bounces spike, protecting your domains. See [Trust & safety](https://gork.email/features) for thresholds.

## Invoices & cancellation

Receipts and PDF invoices are issued automatically each cycle by the payment processor and emailed to you. To cancel, open the customer portal from the Billing page — cancellation stops renewal; deleting a workspace with an active subscription requires cancelling first (see [Team](/account/team)).
